Theo Clinkard workshop - 22/23/24 febbraio 2019

Theo's workshops begin with a class that involves simple sensory exercises that encourage awareness and connection within the body, alongside perception games that explore participants relationship to themselves, to each other and to the spaces they inhabit. Following this, his class becomes a balance of improvisation and learnt movement patterns devised to develop dancers coordination and help them find greater clarity in articulation. He finishes up with phrase work and/or group dances that encourage playful, present and expansive dancing. After class, Theo will lead a session where participants are invited to explore, observe and discuss some of the ideas that lie at the heart of his choreographic work. He will share some of the creative tasks and improvisations that his company use in their devising process with an emphasis on exploring the use of the senses, dancing in pairs and in larger groups. Theo will ensure an empowering atmosphere is created to enable all participants to flourish and make available various universal techniques and ideas that can enrich participants own practises, whether they are performers, dance makers or teachers.
